Workplace Mediation

Have you got a headache because two people in your workplace are not getting on together, or are even being openly hostile to each other? Are they wasting time and energy which should be going into their work? Is the atmosphere around them getting tense?

I can offer a completely impartial way of helping people in this situation reach a workable compromise. This doesn't just help to make the workplace a more pleasant and cooperative place to spend time, important though that is - mediation saves time, energy and money by giving people a method of settling their own differences. It also means that you can avoid anything drastic, like tribunals or legal action, further down the line.

Mediation takes one day, broken up into three stages that are easy to follow but very effective. The outcome of the mediation is a written agreement detailing how they will work together, which they can choose to keep confidential or share. You also have the option of a follow-up visit later on, to make sure that everything is going to plan.

The two people concerned would need to be willing to give it a go, so why not call me to talk through possible approaches? In my experience, people in this situation are usually very pleased to be given an opportunity to settle their differences with a neutral person. There is no obligation on your part if you decide not to proceed with the mediation.

“Viridor employs circa 3,000 personnel across the UK. From time to time interpersonal disputes arise in the workplace between colleagues that require intervention and mediation to resolve. Line management are often ill-equipped, unable or unwilling to deal with these situations which, if left unchecked, can have a negative effect on morale, productivity and effectiveness. Caroline Toll has a proven methodology for resolving such issues and the company has been pleased to use her approach to good effect on a number of occasions in the recent past. The results of Caroline's work have been robust and long lasting and I would have no hesitation in recommending her services to other employers.”
